Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf posted on social media Wednesday that some reports indicate Iran’s enemies, with the support of “a certain regional country,” are preparing to launch an operation to seize Iranian islands. He warned that if they dare to take any action, Tehran will mercilessly attack all major infrastructure of that regional country.

Qalibaf said all enemy movements are under Iranian surveillance.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, an Iranian military source stated that if the enemy attempts a ground operation against Iranian islands or mainland, or pressures Iran through naval actions in the Persian Gulf and Oman Gulf, Iran will open a new front in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz connects the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, serving as a vital passage linking the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Indian Ocean, often called the waterway connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa. The Iranian military source said Iran has both the intention and the capability to threaten the Strait of Hormuz. If the Americans want to foolishly try to open the Strait of Hormuz, they should be careful not to create another strait that brings trouble and difficulties.

Houthi political bureau member Buhaiti recently stated that the Houthis are considering all options to support Iran in resisting US and Israeli attacks. If the Strait of Hormuz must be closed, the Houthis will only target ships involved in attacks against Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine.
