Amazon has launched faster delivery services, allowing consumers in some U.S. cities to pay for 1-hour delivery.
Brief Summary
Amazon is rolling out new 1-hour and 3-hour delivery options in hundreds of areas across the United States.
Amazon (AMZN, up 1.96%) has introduced faster delivery options, enabling consumers in certain cities to pay for 1-hour delivery.
The e-commerce giant announced on Tuesday that 1-hour delivery is now available in hundreds of regions, while 3-hour delivery covers over 2,000 regions.
The new service supports quick delivery of common items from local big-box stores, including household essentials, personal care, beauty products, and over-the-counter medicines.
Amazon states that expedited delivery has been launched in major metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington D.C., as well as in parts of smaller cities like Des Moines, Iowa, and Boise, Idaho. The service also extends to some surrounding suburbs and plans for ongoing expansion.

Consumers can see which items support expedited delivery via new prompts next to product names. In areas where 1-hour and 3-hour delivery are available, customers can also visit dedicated product pages to select items eligible for rush delivery.
Udith Madan, Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Amazon, said:
“Today’s consumers are busier than ever and want time-saving ways to keep their households running smoothly. We see that, with our unique operational capabilities and delivery network, we can make life a little more convenient for our customers.”
