Abstract generation in progress

Consumers Energy has unveiled a 20-year Integrated Resource Plan for Michigan, proposing over 13 GW of new renewables and clean energy alongside two new natural gas plants totaling 1.5 GW. This comprehensive strategy aims to ensure reliable, affordable 24/7 power, create thousands of construction jobs, and generate nearly $19 billion in local tax base impact. The plan, which builds on customer programs that have already saved $8.5 billion, will be filed in June and requires approval from the Michigan Public Service Commission.
