Several Leap Motor employees confirmed that the company issued an all-staff email on February 9th encouraging employees to voluntarily surrender and self-report for amnesty, with a one-month window. According to internal notices, during this period, any employee who voluntarily returns past illegal gains to the company’s integrity account will have their previous violations forgiven and will be exempt from punishment. The notice also stated that this is not an endorsement of misconduct, but rather an opportunity for employees who have made mistakes to “let go of their burdens and start anew.” The company emphasized that after March 10th, any unreported violations will be subject to penalties. The penalties are divided into six levels based on the amount involved, with the lightest being a warning for amounts under 1,000 yuan; a demerit for amounts between 1,000 and 10,000 yuan; dismissal, public expulsion, and recovery of stocks and gains for amounts over 10,000 yuan; and for violations exceeding 30,000 yuan, with amounts over 1 million or 15 million yuan, Leap Motor stated that these will be handed over to judicial authorities, and employees could face sentences of more than 6 months, over 3 years, or even up to 10 years, with related stocks and gains also being confiscated.
