On the evening of March 22, a traffic accident occurred at Guanyinqiao in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing. A small car rapidly collided with pedestrians, drawing public attention.

A 9-second video circulating online shows a car approaching from a distance at high speed and suddenly hitting pedestrians, causing them to be thrown into the air.

Additionally, multiple videos reveal that the offending vehicle has a Sichuan Q license plate. The front right side of the car is damaged, and several ambulances are parked at the scene.

Eyewitnesses said the car did not slow down before hitting pedestrians and drove straight toward them. Witnesses immediately called 110 and 120 for help.

A representative from the Guanyinqiao International Consumer Gathering Area Management Bureau in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, stated that the original sidewalk at the scene was cordoned off for construction. After the incident, the urban management team arrived promptly to assist police in handling the situation. Some people were injured in the accident.

In the early hours of March 23, the Liangjiang New Area Branch of Chongqing Public Security Bureau issued a police report stating that at 7:19 p.m. on March 22, 33-year-old male driver Tang, with a Sichuan Q license plate, was driving on Jiankei First Road near Far East City when he suddenly fell ill, lost control of the vehicle, and collided with pedestrians and parked cars, causing damage to two vehicles. Tang and three pedestrians were injured. Police quickly arrived at the scene to handle the situation and transported the injured for medical treatment. Tang was pronounced dead after rescue efforts by 120. The other injured persons are not in life-threatening condition. Further investigation is ongoing.
