According to ZDNet Korea, the Korean National Tax Service plans to select a private cryptocurrency asset custodian as early as the first half of this year to manage seized virtual assets. The agency is establishing selection criteria, with a focus on examining security requirements, company scale, and whether insurance has been purchased in accordance with the "Virtual Asset User Protection Act." Following two previous incidents where crypto assets seized by the Korean National Tax Service were stolen due to accidentally leaked recovery phrases in documents, the agency decided to subsequently transfer management to a professional custodian.
