Regularly Check Wallet Addresses, Three Steps to Quickly Identify Security Risks

Abstract generation in progress

Recently, cases of digital asset theft have been frequently reported, prompting many investors to pay more attention to wallet address checks and security protection. In fact, while blockchain’s decentralization protects privacy, once assets are stolen, they are difficult to recover. The only way is to prevent in advance. Learning to regularly check your wallet address and verify authorization and permission statuses can greatly reduce risks.

Why Regularly Check Your Wallet Address Security Status

If your wallet address is maliciously authorized to a project or has multi-signature permissions set, these hidden risks could lead to asset loss without your awareness. Many people only check their wallets after discovering assets are missing, which is too late. Therefore, developing the habit of regularly verifying your wallet address is essential, especially when engaging with new DeFi projects or using unfamiliar applications.

How to Check Wallet Address on Blockchain Explorer

Taking the Tron blockchain as an example, checking the security status of a wallet address only requires three simple steps.

First, visit the official Tron blockchain explorer. Then, enter your wallet address in the search box; the system will display complete information about that address. Next, scroll down the page to see two key modules: “Authorization List” and “Account Permissions.” In the authorization list, you can see which projects have been authorized to use your tokens. In the account permissions, you can check whether other addresses currently have owner permissions or if multi-signature has been set.

What These Check Results Indicate About Wallet Security

After completing the wallet address check, you need to confirm several security indicators. The authorization list should only show projects you actively authorized; if it is empty or only trusted applications are listed, it is safe. The most critical part is account permissions: if only your own address has owner permissions, there is no problem. If multiple signers or unfamiliar addresses have permissions, you should be alert immediately.

Urgent Actions When Anomalies Are Found

If the check reveals abnormal authorizations or signs of permission tampering, do not continue transferring assets to that wallet. It is recommended to immediately disable that address and transfer existing assets to a secure new wallet. For authorized projects, revoke permissions in the relevant application settings. Regular wallet address checks can help you detect issues promptly and cultivate good asset management habits.
