[Company Information]

PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust was organized in Maryland on May 18, 2009, and began operations on August 4, 2009, upon completing its initial public offering of common stock. The company is a specialized financial firm that, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, primarily invests in residential mortgage loans and mortgage-related assets. The company’s main investment goal is to maximize the value of its acquired mortgage loans, many of which may be distressed and purchased at a discount based on their unpaid principal balance, whether through loan modification programs, special servicing, or focusing on keeping borrowers in their homes, or when necessary, through timely foreclosure of collateralized loans. The company has two segments: Servicing and Investment Activities. The lending operations focus on the resale of newly originated mortgage loans and investing in acquired mortgage assets for investment purposes.
