Tide poaches PPRO CTO for new leadership role

Miles joins Tide as a senior technology leader with over 20 years in fintech and e-commerce. He will manage 700+ engineers to enhance Tide’s offerings for small businesses, following a $1.5 billion valuation investment to drive growth and AI integration.

Miles brings more than two decades of senior technology leadership experience from global fintech and ecommerce businesses. He joins from payments firm PPRO, where he served as chief technology officer and managing director since 2021. Before that, Miles held senior technology leadership roles at Wayfair and Klarna, where he led large international engineering teams supporting rapid product and platform growth.

In his new role, Miles will lead 700+ engineer’s across Tide’s global footprint as the firm evolves from a financial services pure-play firm into a platform that delivers key products and services for small businesses including credit, accounting, tax, payroll and subscriptions.

His appointment follows last year’s strategic investment from TPG which valued Tide at $1.5 billion. At the time, the company said the new capital would be used to “accelerate Tide’s international expansion, support rapid product development and advance its investment into agentic AI”.
