Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Growth at 9-Month High

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan climbed 13.1% year-on-year in February 2026 from 12.7% in the previous month. This marked the strongest expansion in industrial activity since May, driven by higher output in mining and quarrying (52.8% vs 37.7%) and manufacturing (12.9% vs 12.0% in January), particularly in food products and tobacco (17.9% vs 13.6%), textiles, clothing, and leather (14.4% vs -8.5%), chemical products (267.7% vs 38.9%), pharmaceutical products (106.7% vs 8.9%), machinery and equipment (39.2% vs 25.5%), and vehicles (49.5% vs 36.1%). Water supply also rose by 14.8% from 13.8% previously. Meanwhile, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply declined by 14.6%, reversing sharply from a 0.7% increase. For the January-February 2026 period, industrial activity was 15.5% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
