(MENAFN) Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates reported early Wednesday that their air defense systems successfully intercepted drones and missiles launched from Iran, according to reports.

Kuwait’s National Guard spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jadaan Fadel Jadaan stated that seven drones were “neutralized” and emphasized that National Guard units continue to focus on protecting the country and maintaining security and stability.

Separately, the UAE Defense Ministry said its air defense systems were actively responding to incoming missiles and drones from Iran. The ministry added that the explosions heard in various areas of the country were the result of successful interceptions by these systems, as stated by reports.

Reports note that Israel and the United States have carried out joint military operations against Iran since February 28, resulting in approximately 1,300 fatalities, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military installations. These attacks have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and aviation, according to reports.
