Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 20 — According to The Block, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warning on March 19, 2026, alerting the public to fake FBI tokens appearing on the Tron blockchain network. The scam uses the TRC-20 token standard to send so-called “FBI tokens” to users’ wallets and coerces users to provide personal information on phishing websites by claiming violations of anti-money laundering regulations and asset freezing. The FBI New York Division posted on X platform, urging users to stay vigilant about related tokens and guiding victims to report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). Previously, FBI data showed that cryptocurrency fraud losses reached billions of dollars in 2024, a 45% increase from 2022, making crypto-related investment scams the largest category of financial losses they track.
