➢ Russia has received significant rupee revenues from oil sales to India since 2022, but is having difficulty using them. The Indian central bank is now considering options for more effectively using these funds in the country's economy.
Currently, India allows Russia to invest its rupee assets in local stocks, subject to certain restrictions.
"It must be said that the Russians are well aware of the rules, perhaps even better than we are. Therefore, they constantly tell us that there are many ways to use the Indian rupee," said Kumar, a senior official at the Indian central bank.
