Storage Giants Issue Warning: Storage Chip Shortage May Continue Through 2030! Tianfund Zhihuang Innovation Chip Design ETF (589070) Receives Net Inflows of Nearly 70 Million Yuan Over the Past 5 Days
On March 18, the three major A-share indices opened higher collectively, with storage chip concepts becoming active again. The Shanghai STAR Market Chip Design Theme Index rose by 1.47% at the time of writing. Among the constituent stocks, Baiwei Storage rose nearly 5%, hitting a new high, Purun Shares increased over 4%, and Shengke Communications and Lianyun Technology both rose over 3%.
In related ETFs, the Tianhong Sci-Tech Chip Design ETF (589070) has seen significant capital inflows in recent days. Wind data shows that this ETF experienced a net capital inflow of over 12 million yuan yesterday, with a total of 68.52 million yuan attracted over the past five days. The latest circulating shares of this ETF are 695 million, with a circulating scale of 632 million yuan.
The Tianhong Sci-Tech Chip Design ETF (589070) has a 20% upside and downside potential. This product closely tracks the Shanghai STAR Market Chip Design Theme Index, which focuses on core aspects of chip design. The related industry content is nearly 95%, with high industry concentration and prominent “chip content.” Its constituent stocks include 50 leading companies in the STAR Market’s chip sector.
According to Cailian Press, on Tuesday (March 17) local time, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won stated at NVIDIA GTC that due to systemic bottlenecks in chip production, he expects the global memory chip shortage to likely persist until 2030. Meanwhile, he predicts that prices for DRAM, NAND, HBM, and other storage chips will continue to rise, and the upward trend may last for a long time.
Guotai Haitong Securities pointed out that AI development has triggered a “big inflation” in global storage, which benefits domestic storage companies still in the growth phase by improving cash flow and shortening depreciation recovery cycles. Profitability improvements and stock price increases will help these companies expand capacity through the capital market, benefiting domestic packaging and testing, equipment, and other industry chains, and accelerating the pace of domestic innovation.
