US February Final Demand PPI increases by 3.4% year-over-year, higher than expected

U.S. February Final Demand Producer Price Index (PPI) increased 0.7% month-over-month, compared to an expected 0.3% increase; up 3.4% year-over-year, compared to an expected 2.9% rise.

During the period, the final demand PPI excluding food and energy rose 0.5% month-over-month, compared to an expected 0.3% increase; up 3.9% year-over-year, compared to an expected 3.7% rise.

Excluding food, energy, and trade, the final demand PPI increased 0.5% month-over-month and 3.5% year-over-year.
