Abstract generation in progress

Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President and Head of Smartphone R&D Team Moon Sung-Hoon stated at a media roundtable before the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event that Samsung is preparing silicon-carbon anode batteries for smartphones and will launch them at the appropriate time. Moon Sung-Hoon acknowledged that Samsung MX may be slightly behind in battery innovation, but newer technologies like silicon-carbon anodes must undergo very strict quality testing and certification by the company; once Samsung believes silicon-carbon anode batteries can ultimately improve the customer experience, the company will consider this option. In the Galaxy S26 series, only the standard model’s battery capacity has increased by 300mAh, while the batteries in the S26+ and S26 Ultra remain at the same level as the previous generation.
