Mars Finance News, March 17 — According to Hyperinsight monitoring, WTI crude oil futures surged over 3% in the short term, with intraday gains expanding to 5.5%. Hyperliquid’s CL (WTI crude oil) price also moved higher, currently at $97.5. This rally directly benefits on-chain bulls. MakerDAO founder Rune Christensen opened a 20x leveraged long position on CL at an average price of $92.6 on March 7, with unrealized profits expanding to approximately $310,000 (+17.3%). Additionally, the current on-chain whale holdings exceeding tens of millions of dollars are all on the short side, and the sudden surge in crude oil prices has caused these short positions to collectively incur unrealized losses.
