🔥 HOT: Investigation files show Argentina's President may have received $5 million to "shill" memecoin Libra

An investigation is shaking Argentine politics as documents emerge suggesting an agreement worth approximately $5 million related to promoting the memecoin $LIBRA. The documents were recovered by investigators from the phone of businessman Mauricio Novelli – a figure connected to the group behind this crypto project.
According to disclosed content, the agreement allegedly consisted of three payments: an initial $1.5 million, an additional $1.5 million following a public post on social media, and approximately $2 million after signing a consulting contract related to #blockchain or technology with the Argentine government. However, investigating authorities stated there is no evidence confirming that this agreement was fully executed.
The incident began on 2/14/2025, when Argentine President Javier Milei posted on social media introducing the $LIBRA token, describing it as a project aimed at supporting investment for businesses and startups in Argentina. Immediately after the post, the token price surged from nearly $0 to approximately $5 in just about 40 minutes.
However, the rally did not last. As major holders sold off, the token price rapidly collapsed sharply, causing losses for many investors. Blockchain analysis shows a group of related wallets withdrew approximately $99 million from the project's liquidity during the price volatility period.
Following the incident, over 100 criminal complaints were filed with Argentine federal courts and Congress also established a committee to review the entire matter.
President Javier Milei stated he only shared information about the project and did not participate in the development or operation of the #memecoin. Nevertheless, the incident $LIBRA is still regarded as one of the largest crypto scandals involving politics in Argentina in recent years.
