Iran's Foreign Minister: Regional Insecurity Stems from "US-Israeli Aggression"
People’s Financial News, March 15 — The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 15th, saying that Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian stated that the insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz and the entire region is caused by “the aggression of the United States and Israel.” Iran’s defensive actions should not be seen as attacks on other regional countries. The statement said that Amir Abdollahian had a phone call with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna on the evening of the 14th, exchanging views on U.S. and Israeli military actions and the current regional situation. Abdollahian said that all countries should respond to the current situation responsibly, firmly condemn the military actions of the U.S. and Israel, and avoid taking actions that could escalate conflicts or expand the situation. Abdollahian reiterated that Iran firmly defends its national sovereignty, security, dignity, and territorial integrity. Iran’s defensive actions are only targeted at military bases and facilities of invaders in the region and should not be viewed as attacks on other regional countries. Abdollahian also said that the insecurity in the entire region, including Lebanon, stems from Israel’s aggression and expansionist behavior. He emphasized that for Lebanon to achieve peace, Israel must end its occupation, cease attacks, and stop its aggression. (Xinhua)
