(MENAFN- IANS) Kolkata, March 14 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a mega rally organized by the West Bengal BJP on Saturday afternoon at Brigade Parade Ground in central Kolkata. This will also mark the end of the party’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in the state amid the crucial Assembly elections scheduled for later this year.

The Prime Minister will be speaking at two events at Brigade Parade Ground today, the first being administrative and the second political.

Two separate platforms have been set up at Brigade Parade Ground for the two events, positioned next to each other. The dais for the administrative event has been erected behind the main dais, from where the Prime Minister will deliver his political speech.

Officials from various Central Government departments are managing the administrative dais, from which the Prime Minister will virtually lay the foundation stones for different central government projects in West Bengal.

“After spending a short time on the administrative dais, the Prime Minister will move to the main dais to deliver his political speech,” said a West Bengal BJP state committee member.

Meanwhile, almost all of central Kolkata has been under a blanket of security since this morning, in preparation for the Prime Minister’s twin events.

The rally ground and surrounding zones have been declared a “No-Fly Zone.” Drone flights are strictly prohibited in the area during the rally. Security personnel have been stationed on the rooftops of high-rise buildings near the rally site to monitor activity closely.

Approximately 3,000 security personnel have been deployed for the rally alone, according to a senior Kolkata Police officer. On Friday evening, BJP leaders reviewed the rally preparations.

Security arrangements are reportedly organized zone by zone, with deputy commissioners overseeing each zone. An officer of the rank of joint commissioner is supervising the overall security plan.

Additional police officers of the rank of additional commissioner will also be present on the streets on Saturday.

Meanwhile, since Friday night, the Trinamool Congress has flooded the city with posters demanding payment of unpaid dues under various central government schemes owed to the West Bengal government.

The posters, especially along routes where the Prime Minister’s convoy will pass, read “Go back, Modi.” Large posters and cutouts of the Prime Minister have also been displayed throughout the city.
