The Mysterious Disappearance of Sylwester Suszek: A Case That Remains Unsolved to This Day
Sylwester Suszek, the founder and longtime president of the cryptocurrency exchange BitBay, was one of the most influential entrepreneurs in Poland’s crypto industry. On March 10, 2022, the 34-year-old disappeared under mysterious circumstances—four years later, many questions remain unanswered. The details of his disappearance continue to puzzle investigators, especially since he was last seen at a fuel depot after a business meeting.

The last known information about Suszek’s whereabouts dates to the day he went missing. Witnesses reported seeing him at a gas station, where he was after a business appointment. Nicole is convinced that her brother was the victim of a serious crime. “Considering all the facts, another scenario seems unlikely,” she stated in interviews.
Disturbing messages and extortion attempts
The situation worsened dramatically when Nicole received alarming messages. One was an audio recording resembling her brother’s voice—though electronically distorted. In the recording, the person demanded she obtain bitcoins worth about 12 million PLN and send them to a specified email address. The message was accompanied by a text warning: “This is not a joke, in a week there will be a photo of the body.”
Nicole refused to transfer the money. But the threats did not stop—more recordings followed with even more extreme demands and threats of mu
