Iran's New Supreme Leader Delivers First Speech Since Taking Office: Demands US Military Close All Middle East Military Bases

On March 12th, local time, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered his first speech since taking office.

According to Al Jazeera, he called on the Iranian people to unite and demanded that the United States close all military bases in the Middle East. He emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz will remain “closed” to pressure Iran’s enemies.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei added that Iran believes in friendly relations with neighboring countries, and the current strikes are only targeting U.S. military bases and will continue.
