AWE2026 Lands "One Exhibition, Two Districts" Model for the First Time: New Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone Exhibition Area
Phoenix Technology News, March 12 — The 2026 China Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE) opened in Shanghai. This year’s exhibition theme is “AI Technology · Smarter Future,” and it features the first use of the “Dual Zone” model, adding the Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone. The opening ceremony took place in the Zhongyang Hall of the Yushang Center within this zone.
According to organizers, over 1,200 companies participated in this year’s AWE, covering an exhibition area of 170,000 square meters. The exhibits include smart terminals, intelligent transportation, health technology, embodied intelligence, and computing infrastructure. AI home appliances continue to evolve in functionality, proactive services, and human-machine interaction. AI smartphones, AI glasses, and other terminals are accelerating their deployment, while humanoid robots and embodied robots are entering a period of commercial acceleration.
At the opening ceremony, the “Smart Home Industry Standardization Roadmap” and the “Virtual (Augmented) Reality Research Report (2025)” blue paper were released, and the first “Shen Zhi Cup” Innovation Competition was launched. Representatives from companies such as Hisense, TCL, Sony, Lenovo, BOE, Huawei, LG Electronics, Baidu, Xiaomi, and others attended the launch event.
The Eastern Hub exhibition area covers approximately 30,000 square meters, divided into four sections: Intelligent Connected Terminals, Smart Living, Digital Manufacturing, and Future Innovation, showcasing upgrades in smart terminals, digital manufacturing transformation, and future technological applications.
