Everyone is discussing Perplexity and OpenClaw together, but in fact, these two projects represent two completely different AI approaches. Perplexity is focused on redesigning search, while OpenClaw is redesigning execution systems—one solves information problems, the other solves task problems.

In the short term, Perplexity is more likely to succeed because the demand is very direct—we search for information every day. But in the long term, the potential of the Agent system is greater. If AI can reliably execute tasks, it will change not just tools, but the way we work.
In one sentence, Perplexity is changing the way humans access information, while OpenClaw is changing the way humans complete tasks.
