Diana Sorfleet, who has served as Chief Administrative Officer, will be stepping down after nearly 15 years with the company. Riz Chand, joining from AEA Investors, has been appointed as the new Chief Human Resources Officer to lead the organization’s people strategy and development initiatives.

A Decade-and-a-Half of Organizational Leadership

Sorfleet’s tenure at CSX spans nearly 15 years of transformative organizational work. Throughout her tenure, she has been instrumental in shaping the company’s workforce strategies and building a strong organizational culture that has endured through multiple leadership transitions. Her collaborative approach with four successive CEOs demonstrates her adaptability and strategic acumen in managing complex organizational change.

“Diana has consistently championed our company’s values and culture,” remarked CSX CEO Steve Angel. “Her strategic vision and steadfast dedication have made a lasting impact on CSX’s progress. We extend our gratitude for her contributions and wish her success in her future endeavors.”

Bringing Extensive Talent Management Expertise

Riz Chand arrives at CSX with a robust background in senior human resources leadership. Previously, he held the position of Chief Talent Officer and Operating Partner at AEA Investors, where he developed expertise in organizational transformation and talent acquisition strategies. His career has included prominent HR roles at several major corporations, including BNSF (a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary), Energy Future Holdings, Kennametal (NYSE: KMT), Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Aetna International.

“We are thrilled to welcome Riz to CSX,” said Angel. “He brings a comprehensive skill set in talent management and organizational development. His appointment underscores our commitment to building a high-performing workforce culture.”

Expanding HR’s Strategic Role

In his new position, Chand will oversee all aspects of Human Resources, including Total Rewards programs, People Systems infrastructure, and Occupational Health Compliance initiatives across CSX (NASDAQ: CSX). The appointment reflects the company’s strategic emphasis on people-centric growth and organizational excellence as key drivers of business success.
