In January 2026, the National Energy Administration issued 196 million renewable energy green certificates, with 102 million certificates traded, including 68.37 million certificates traded separately. The average price ranged from 1.25 yuan to 5.51 yuan. A total of 832,000 renewable energy projects were involved.

On February 14th, the National Energy Administration released the issuance and trading data of renewable energy green certificates nationwide for January 2026. In January 2026, the NEA issued 196 million green certificates, involving 832,000 renewable energy power generation projects, of which 151 million green certificates were tradable, accounting for 76.79%. The certificates issued for December 2025 renewable energy electricity correspond to 152 million green certificates, accounting for 77.49%.

In January 2026, a total of 102 million green certificates were traded nationwide, including 33.69 million green certificates from green power trading.

In January 2026, 68.37 million green certificates were traded through independent transactions nationwide, with 6.5 million certificates for electricity produced in 2024, at an average price of 1.25 yuan per certificate; and 61.88 million certificates for electricity produced in 2025, at an average price of 5.51 yuan per certificate.
