Trump: An agreement framework has been formed on the Greenland issue, and the tariffs will not take effect

U.S. President Trump stated on social media that, based on a very productive meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, we have initially established a framework for future agreements regarding Greenland and the entire Arctic region. If this plan is ultimately finalized, it will be a significant benefit for the United States and all NATO member countries. Based on this understanding, I will not implement the tariffs originally scheduled to take effect on February 1. Further discussions are also underway regarding Greenland and the "Golden Dome" project. As negotiations progress, more information will be provided. Vice President Pence, Secretary of State Pompeo, Special Envoy Witkoff, and other relevant personnel will be responsible for these negotiations—they will report directly to me.
