Looking at the L1 public chains on the market, most aim to be all-in-one solutions—one set of logic to dominate the world, stacking various services on top. But one project has taken a different path since 2018, specifically designed for financial scenarios, with a core philosophy summed up in two words: modularity.

Talking about modularity might seem a bit abstract. Think of it from another angle—rather than building a single integrated appliance, it's like setting up a sound system. Each component works independently; consensus engines, privacy algorithms, RWA modules, audit interfaces can all be updated or replaced separately. Financial institutions and developers can adjust configurations based on actual needs (for example, requiring higher throughput or special audit rules), and changing one part doesn't affect the whole system. For fields like finance, where requirements are highly variable but fault tolerance is low, this approach is indeed interesting.

From a technical standpoint, you can see how deep this logic runs. For the privacy layer, currently, efficient zk-SNARKs are used to balance privacy and verification costs, but the plan already includes migrating to quantum-resistant solutions like zk-STARKs. This isn't just a simple replacement; the privacy module can evolve independently.

On the scalability front, modular design makes complex solutions like sharding truly feasible. For example, RWA asset trading can be isolated into a separate shard, high-frequency payment transactions can run on another shard, avoiding resource contention and congestion. This concept of functional sharding is a practical application of modular architecture.

This is the correct way to open, don't bother with those fancy narratives. Doing one thing well is better than anything else.

Is this the same approach from 2018? How are the projects that were equally confident back then doing now? The promised modularity—whether it can run or not is a different matter altogether.

ngl, this approach is indeed impressive. It's much more comfortable than those public chains that try to do everything.
