When Satoshi Nakamoto stepped back from the bitcoin project, very few understood what they were actually sitting on. His early holdings tell a fascinating story about patience and conviction.
Walk through the numbers: In 2009, those coins were worth essentially nothing. By 2010, they'd grown to $4.5K. The 2011 rally pushed them to $317K. Then came the explosive moves—$5.5M in 2012, $14.5M in 2013, and $827M by 2014.
Fast forward to today, after 17 years of holding through every cycle, every crash, and every doubt. That same stash is now worth $100 billion.
No market timing. No panic selling. No chasing the next trend. Just conviction in an idea and the discipline to let time do the work.

One hundred billion... Really, every time I see this number, I want to smash my phone.
I've been holding for 17 years without moving a single coin, how much patience does that take?
The word "HODL" still sounds so ridiculous now.
The early adopters are now unsung heroes; no one knows who is who.
Satoshi probably didn't expect it to turn out like this before disappearing, or... maybe they saw it coming long ago?
More than 1000x, and I'm still wondering if I can hold on until the next 17 years.

10 billion is really outrageous, but the key is that it hasn't been touched even once.

Really going from 0 to 10 billion, how strong must the mental resilience be?
---
Chat software, this is the true faith recharge.
---
Wow, I haven't touched it since 2017... I can't even dare to think about it.
---
It's hard to hold on; if I had been in a small fluctuation earlier, I would have cut my losses already.
---
So, making money is about patience. I really have no hope with my impulsive personality.
---
100 billion ah, damn, this is the legendary "I did nothing, but I made money."
---
Holding so many coins and still able to sleep, I really can't learn that, brother.

Bitcoin's Original Hodler: A 17-Year Journey

The math speaks for itself.
