The SlowMist Security Team recently discovered a new wave of scam activities targeting MetaMask wallet users. This scam primarily aims to steal users' wallet seed phrases, with increasingly sophisticated methods that have successfully fooled many users with insufficient vigilance.

**How Do Scammers Operate?**

Scammers replicate the visual design of the official MetaMask security alert page to create a highly realistic fake environment. They set up a seemingly legitimate two-factor authentication (2FA) process on the page, combined with countdown prompts to create a sense of urgency, tricking users into believing they need to complete verification immediately. During this process, unsuspecting users are ultimately led to input their wallet seed phrases, handing over control of their assets to the scammers.

The entire scam involves: forged official security pages, fake 2FA authentication interfaces, and countdown mechanisms that create a sense of crisis. The combination of these elements makes it difficult for many users to distinguish real from fake.

Users should remember one principle: MetaMask official will never proactively ask you to input your seed phrase. Any page requesting your seed phrase, even if it appears official, should raise immediate suspicion.
