Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced on January 14th that the technical prerequisites for Web3's original vision are now in place. He pointed out that the zero-knowledge proof environment virtual machine (ZK-EVM) and layer-two solutions have matured. He urged developers to shift their focus from speculation to building decentralized "hammers" (tools that users permanently own) rather than centralized "junk software." Buterin specifically highlighted protocols like Waku and Fileverse that demonstrate this new capability through "leaving test" phases. The price of Ethereum is $3,284, down 1.96% from the intraday high, with a 24-hour trading volume of $36.36 billion.
