#预测市场 The prediction market topic has been trending all over recently. After reading many VC retrospectives, I finally understand that this sector is actually set to become the biggest winner in 2025? 🤔
I previously had no idea what prediction markets were; I thought they were just gambling. But I found out that platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi have been doing legitimate work all along. Even more shocking is that Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has invested $2 billion, indicating that institutional-level players are really optimistic about this direction.
Then major exchanges like Coinbase and Kraken couldn’t sit still either. One acquired The Clearing Company, and another plans to launch prediction markets next year. It feels like the entire industry is competing for this cake. The most interesting part is that employees at these startups are moving around; people who left Polymarket are now working on similar projects at other platforms. It seems this is truly a promising growth direction.
But honestly, as a newcomer, I still don’t quite understand how prediction markets make money specifically. The logic behind stablecoins is much clearer, but besides betting on future events, do prediction markets have no other value? Can experienced folks explain this? It feels like the whole of 2025 is being captivated by this topic 👀
