Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin drew an interesting parallel recently: Ethereum functions like both BitTorrent and Linux. The BitTorrent comparison illustrates one critical capability—how truly decentralized systems achieve massive adoption and scale. Meanwhile, the Linux parallel reveals another side of the coin: decentralized, open-source ecosystems don't just survive in niche communities. They penetrate mainstream enterprise adoption and become foundational infrastructure that institutions actually depend on. This dual nature speaks volumes about Ethereum's positioning in the broader tech landscape. It's not just a peer-to-peer novelty—it's building toward something enterprises and infrastructure providers will eventually rely on.

NGL, V God’s analogy still has some merit; from the Linux perspective, it indeed hits the mark. But will enterprises really rely on Ethereum? I reserve my opinion.

Nah, Vitalik is right. Ethereum really occupies this position... both wild and legitimate, quite contradictory.

vitalik really said "we're the infrastructure now" and honestly? the linux parallel hits different. bittorrent got the vibes, linux got the *institutions*. that's the whole game right there.

I've long said that Ethereum is a game of chess. Comparing BitTorrent and Linux on two dimensions is a sign of the trend. The opportunity is right in front of you, and those still hesitating are just waiting to be cut.

Hey, that's not right. Linux only becomes truly valuable after becoming infrastructure. Ethereum is still there...
