The recent market volatility has been quite interesting. Traditional precious metals have plummeted—NY Gold futures dropped over 1%, but that’s not even the most outrageous; Silver futures plunged by 8.91%, and London spot silver was even more brutal, falling 6.08% in a single day. Silver has been declining from its intraday high, ultimately closing down more than 9%, and gold didn’t fare much better, dropping 4.44% for the day to close at approximately $4,331 per ounce.

This drop dealt a significant blow to investors who chased high positions, especially retail traders with full leverage short-term bets, who were directly wiped out. Market sentiment was indeed quite tense for a while.

Interestingly, the cryptocurrency market was singing a different tune at the same time. Bitcoin approached $89,000, and Ethereum broke through $3,000, with the entire sector showing a broad rebound. Meme coins led the rally, with Pepe even topping the gainers list, and once-popular altcoins like AVAX and SSV also started to regain activity.

From institutional movements, Metaplanet continued to add positions in Q4, acquiring an additional 4,279 Bitcoin, bringing their total holdings to 35,102 BTC. This sustained strategic positioning somewhat reflects institutional confidence in the long-term outlook.

Market hot spots are rotating again, with sectors previously dismissed as "zeroed out" by some opinions making a strong comeback, with activity levels significantly rising. Looking ahead to 2026, new structures and opportunities may be brewing. The key is to stay alert and adapt flexibly to market changes.

The data doesn't match up. Silver has dropped 9%, but futures silver is at 8.91%. What's going on with this discrepancy... Let's wait and see the subsequent statistics. Historical lows often appear amidst this kind of chaos.

When precious metals plummet, BTC is still pushing towards 89k. The contrast is indeed outrageous.

Silver plummeted 9% directly breaking the support, this is the fate of precious metals. The crypto market quickly rebounded in response, truly impressive.

Precious metals are struggling, but the crypto world is booming. The stark contrast is incredible... Institutions are still lurking, indicating that the smart money has known all along.

Silver plunges 9% this time really brutal, another feast of cutting leeks Precious metals have fallen so much, but crypto is celebrating wildly, market segmentation is a bit outrageous Metaplanet is still疯狂 adding positions, institutions are the real gamblers Pepe leads the gains? Laugh out loud, meme coins are always the last celebration Leverage retail investors are going to pay tuition again this round, pitiful Are traditional metals doomed? It feels like Bitcoin is the true safe-haven asset Institutions hold 35,102 coins, with this appetite, I have to ask if there’s still room for retail investors Is a 9% drop in silver not exciting enough? Keep smashing it down Hotspot rotation is back again, will this be another illusionary rebound Altcoins are active, real or fake, or are they going to be trapped again
