At the beginning of 2026, the crypto community was flooded with a bizarre event— a certain coin $BROCCOLI714 surged dramatically in a short period, and the mastermind behind it was actually a hacker who stole from a market maker account to manipulate the price. Someone made a profit of 1.5 million USD from this, and when seeing those profit screenshots at the time, the first reaction was that it was hard to tell if they were real or fake, but it was later confirmed to be true.

This wave of market activity is a microcosm of the crypto world. Rapid surge → a large number of retail investors follow and chase the high → hackers or whales cash out at the top → new investors are trapped. During this process, many people, despite knowing the risks, couldn’t resist trying to make quick money, ultimately becoming the victims of a harvest.

From a trading perspective, such events reveal a core issue: about 90% of losses in the crypto market are not due to misjudging the market direction, but because trading decisions are completely dominated by emotions. Seeing a rapid rise, traders get excited and forget to think about the true nature of the market. Those who chase the high and get caught will regret it in hindsight, but at the moment, they just can’t control themselves.

To survive longer in the crypto space, you must first recognize a harsh reality: rapid surges are often traps. Every so-called "once-in-a-century" opportunity may hide risks behind it. The ability to identify these risks is far more valuable than chasing the fantasy of getting rich overnight. Maintaining a good mindset and protecting your principal are the foundations of long-term survival.

It's the same old story. Seeing a surge and getting carried away—it's really time to wake up.

It's the same pattern again. Seeing a surge makes me get carried away. I really can't change.

Another wave of the rookie feast, is 1.5 million U really true? It feels like someone always makes crazy profits every time, and then I just lose my mind. The name BROCCOLI, I knew it wasn't a legit coin from the start. That's right, losing control of your emotions is the real killer. I've been trapped by it myself. Actually, I understand everything, but I just can't pull the trigger. When I see the K-line soaring upward, I get impulsive. Hacker stealing accounts to pump the price? That’s so absurd... Anything can happen in the crypto world. Every time there's a surge, I ask myself why I chased it, and then I regret it the next day, cycle repeats. Preserving the principal is much harder than making quick money. Who doesn't want to get rich overnight? The problem is just surviving to see it.

This issue with BROCCOLI, to put it simply, is the retail investors' emotional tax being paid in full. Those who chase the highs deserve it, no one to blame.
