At 3:00 AM Beijing time on Wednesday (UTC+8), the Federal Reserve will release the minutes of the December 9-10 policy meeting, revealing details of internal disagreements among decision-makers. The Fed's decision to cut interest rates by 25 basis points in December was met with three dissenting votes, two from regional Fed presidents and one from Fed Governor Milan, who has advocated for a significant 50 basis point cut three times since joining the Fed in September. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell stated that policymakers have strong disagreements over the risks related to inflation and employment, with some decision-makers believing that holding rates steady is more appropriate.
