Egg prices are on a rollercoaster! The latest data shows that the price differences across various states in the U.S. are truly outrageous 🚨

This year's egg prices are simply crazy—at the beginning of the year, it was $5.81 per dozen, skyrocketing to $7.52 by the end of January, and briefly reaching $8.17 (a historical high) in early March, but recently it has rebounded to $4.90. However, this is not the average level across the U.S.; the differences between states are outrageous:

Most expensive: Hawaii at $9.73 per dozen, 98.6% higher than the national average (imagine, the money for buying eggs could buy two dozen in other states)
Cheapest: $4.24 per dozen in Missouri, 13.5% cheaper than the national average.

The East is generally being ripped off: Florida 6.36, Alabama 6.12, California 6.05, all of which are more than 20% higher than the national average. The Midwest is relatively reasonable, with Kansas and Nebraska both in the 4.2-4.4 range.

A year-on-year comparison is even more heartbreaking: although prices have dropped a bit recently, egg prices in most states are still 10-40% higher than the same time last year. This wave of inflation really hasn't fully eased up. How much are eggs per dozen over there now?
