Just wrapped up a solid discussion on a major business network about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — two names that still spark heated debates in financial circles.

These government-sponsored enterprises remain at the heart of America's housing finance system, and their future structure could ripple through broader markets. Whether you're tracking traditional finance or watching how macro policies influence digital assets, understanding GSE reform matters.

The conversation touched on their conservatorship status, potential privatization paths, and what that means for taxpayers and market stability. Not your typical crypto talk, but macro fundamentals drive everything — including our space.

The GSE reform has been talked about for so many years, yet it remains an unfinished project...

I really never thought about this GSE thing... But speaking of which, macro can really collapse the entire market. --- Housing finance has always been the lifeline of the U.S. economy. Change this and everything else will follow. --- Ngl, I'm tired of the conservatives' rhetoric about GSE privatization; there’s never a reliable plan. --- That's why sometimes looking at macro things is more crucial than chasing new coins... Unfortunately, most people are still trading charts. --- Wait, how much longer will the conservatorship last? It's been how many years now? --- The taxpayers footing the bill is still just the elites playing tricks... The housing market stabilized? Bullshit, it's already distorted.

Can the GSE reform really affect the crypto world? It feels a bit far-fetched to me... The collapse of real estate finance transmitting to the crypto market is a more logical connection. Once Fannie and Freddie are privatized, how much will retail investors lose? The macro fundamentals are indeed important, but let's not blow the GSE reform out of proportion as the next black swan. This conservatorship stalemate has been around for over a decade; can it really be reformed? I think it's unlikely.
