This post is a discussion thread on GEO marketing✨✨

Due to the rise of AI, traditional SEO methods can no longer meet the communication needs of brands/enterprises. I will continuously update some methodologies and case studies below, and I welcome everyone to identify any gaps and work together to find the optimal solutions for project promotion in the AI Driven era.

1. What is GEO and why do we need it?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) - you can also think of it as the "new SEO" of the AI era. Its popularity in 2025 is mainly due to the rapid development of AI, which has changed people's search habits: more people are directly using AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity to get answers, rather than clicking on links in traditional search engines. This has made traditional SEO rankings less critical; instead, the focus is on how to get your content "scraped" by AI and directly included in its generated responses.

Latest data: More than 40% of global search requests have been consumed by "AI search."

This means:
No matter how high your webpage ranking is, users won't click in; your official website traffic is declining, but you don't know where it went, because users are all "dead" in the ChatGPT dialog box.

If your content is not selected and cited by AI, it essentially disappears. This is the value of GEO: to have AI choose you, speak about you, and recommend you.

2. The Thinking Model of GEO

AI does not like keyword stuffing, it prefers:
"What are the best running shoes to buy in 2025? Why is Nike more suitable for wide feet?"
"If you are looking for cost-effective running shoes, choosing this brand won't go wrong."

SEO = ranking; GEO = citation. It is important to note that ranking does not equal being used by AI.

GEO is "based on LLM thinking", which needs to cut into the essence of different large models.

• ChatGPT's knowledge graph
• Gemini's response logic
• Perplexity's evidence chain model

So you need to know what content LLMs prefer. First of all, AI does not read web pages; it analyzes structures, extracts facts, and summarizes knowledge.
To be chosen by AI, your content must:

> Short paragraph
> Title is clear
> Data can be referenced
> The viewpoints have a comparison
>FAQ style response
>Contextual scenarios (easier for the model to learn)

In this case, to do well in GEO, more effort is needed compared to SEO. Here is an example scenario:

🚫"Our product performance is outstanding and industry-leading."
✅"Why will over 1.2 million users choose this product in 2025? 3 core reasons: …"

As far as I know, the GEO market is also starting to have agencies, focusing on areas such as prompt-based content review (using GPT to check "whether it is easy to quote"), multi-model content testing (the quoting rates of ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude), and data reverse injection (content of knowledge bases fed to AI).
