On July 16, 2025, residents in certain areas of Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, reported foul odor, discoloration, and sediment in tap water, with some experiencing health issues. The initial official explanation was the production of sulfur-containing compounds due to anaerobic decomposition of algae, but there are still disputes over information disclosure, response time, and source responsibility.

3. Jiangyou Minor Bullying Incident (July-August 2025)
On July 22, 2025, a video surfaced showing a 14-year-old girl in Jiangyou City, Mianyang, Sichuan Province, being verbally abused, beaten, and made to kneel while undressed by several peers, sparking dissatisfaction among parents and netizens.
