Recently, a fan puzzledly asked me: "Why did I correctly judge the market trends, yet still incur losses?"
After reviewing his trading records, I simply smiled slightly and replied: "The problem is not that you misread the market direction, but that your position strategy has issues."
In the cryptocurrency market, true experts never rely on full-position trading to win. As the industry proverb goes, it's easy to enter but hard to exit, and those who can survive long-term in this market are all masters of the art of position control.
Many investors mistakenly believe that huge profits rely solely on technical analysis skills. In fact, most liquidation cases are not due to incorrect predictions, but rather because of excessive position sizes.
What is the core issue of position management? Simply put, it involves three key decisions: how much capital to invest, when to increase positions, and when to take profits or cut losses. This is not just a trading skill, but a fundamental element concerning survival.
Common mistakes made by losers include: investing all funds at once, leading to being trapped by market fluctuations; blindly increasing positions during small rallies and quickly getting liquidated during pullbacks; hesitating in the face of good opportunities; not setting stop-loss levels and holding on until losing everything. These are not issues with the market, but rather manifestations of completely losing control of positions.
In this regard, I have three suggestions:
First, adopt a fixed proportion entry strategy. For example, if you have 100,000 USDT, initially use only 30% of the funds, and consider adding more investment once the trend is confirmed, neither being greedy nor timid.
Secondly, implement a staggered entry and exit strategy. No one can precisely buy at the lowest point or sell at the highest point; staggered operations are the most stable method.
Finally, be sure to set stop-loss orders and keep some capital in reserve. The market will not change direction because of your emotions; having the courage to set stop-losses gives you the chance to win the next opportunity.
Only by stabilizing your position can you qualify to talk about profits. A true trader is first and foremost a master of their position.
In the cryptocurrency field, survival is the top priority, and profit is the subsequent goal. Choose the right investment targets, the correct market direction, quality communities, and reliable guides. Start planning now to reduce detours and reap real rewards.
