Retail investors in South Korea are increasing high-leverage investments, with Crypto Assets and ETFs becoming popular choices.

[Coin World] On October 21, news reported that South Korean retail investors “Ants” are accelerating their entry into high-risk assets to chase home purchasing funds. In the past five years, the scale of margin financing has tripled, with retail investors' holdings in US-based leveraged/Reverse ETFs reaching up to 40%. The share of Altcoins transactions on local exchanges exceeds 80%, and a week ago, US-China tariff frictions triggered a downturn in the Crypto Assets market. After the government tightened housing loan and leasing regulations, funds flowed out from banks by nearly 40 trillion won. Regulatory authorities have warned about the risks of leverage and market fluctuations; cases of significant personal losses caused by the collapse of certain Crypto Assets have frequently emerged.
