Ethereum was launched in 2015, co-founded by 8 co-founders between 2013 and 2014. The initial supply of Ethereum was 72 million, with the founding team holding approximately 11.9 million ETH (16.53%).

1. Vitalik Buterin: 630,000 ETH, a core figure in Ethereum, wrote the white paper and leads the development. Currently leading the Ethereum Foundation, promoting the Dencun and Prague upgrades, focusing on scalability and privacy, and donating ETH to support open-source projects. Holds approximately 240,000 ETH (worth over $1 billion).

2. Gavin Wood: As the author of the yellow paper and Solidity, he founded Polkadot and Kusama in 2016 and currently leads Parity Technologies, promoting the cross-chain ecosystem (Polkadot). He holds approximately 450,000 ETH, with his net worth primarily coming from $DOT.
3. Charles Hoskinson: Provided early funding. Founded Cardano in 2017 and is now the CEO of IOHK, promoting Hydra scaling and blockchain education in Africa. Focused on $ADA and holds approximately 400,000 Ether.
4. Joseph Lubin: Initial early investor. Founded ConsenSys, developed MetaMask, Infura, and the recently popular project #Linea. In May 2025, he became the chairman of SharpLink Gaming, a company that holds 837,000 ETH, with a personal net worth of 4.5-5.5 billion dollars.
5. Anthony Di Iorio: Early investor. Founded Decentral (Jaxx wallet), transitioned to health and charity after 2019. No sales observed, holding approximately 500,000 to 1,000,000 Ether.
6, Mihai Alisie: Initial ETH was minimal, Vice President of the Foundation, co-founded Bitcoin Magazine with Buterin. Currently supports Akasha and European blockchain policy.
7, Amir Chetrit: Initial ETH was limited, withdrew in 2014 due to insufficient contributions. Quietly supports small crypto projects.
8, Jeffrey Wilcke holds approximately 463,000 Ether, developed Go-Ethereum.
