The SEC has appointed a new head of the finance department, who will likely lead the formulation of encryption regulatory policies.
[Crypto World] According to Bloomberg, SEC Chairman appointed Gibson Dunn & Crutcher partner James Moloney as head of the corporate finance department, responsible for overseeing IPO reviews and corporate disclosures. The department's responsibilities include reviewing corporate financial reports, issuing compliance guidelines, and recently releasing multiple crypto asset regulatory guidelines regarding memecoins and stablecoins. Moloney expressed his eagerness to return to the SEC and push for the establishment of more practical and effective regulatory rules. If the Clarity Act passes in Congress, this department will play a key role in formulating policies related to the structure of the crypto market.
