Iranian officials: Only the above-ground part of the Fordow nuclear facility was damaged and can be repaired; the timing and manner of responding to the United States will be decided.
[Coin World][Iran: Fordow nuclear facility only surface damaged and can be repaired] According to reports, Mehnan Raeesi, the representative of the Qom province in the Iranian parliament, stated this morning (June 22) that contrary to U.S. President Trump’s claims, the Fordow nuclear facility in Iran has not suffered serious damage, with the main damage being to the surface, and it can be repaired. He indicated that he believes “all items that could pose a threat to nearby residents” have already been cleared from the facility and that there are currently no reports of nuclear radiation. He emphasized that Iran views this U.S. attack as a direct intervention in the war by the U.S., and now is the “time for Iran to decide when and how to respond to the U.S.”
