Institutional investors have once again reduced their stock holdings:
According to data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the non-commercial net Holdings of the S&P 500 futures has fallen to its lowest level in 14 months.
Since November 2024, the net positions of asset management companies, leveraged funds, and other investors have decreased by approximately 50%.
In addition, the financing spread measuring the demand for long stock exposure through futures, options, and swaps briefly rose in May before returning to decline.
Despite the rapid recovery of the market in the past two months, the situation remains the same.
The gap between retail and institutional investor sentiment is widening.
