The Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Karianne Tung, stated that the Labour Party government intends to limit crypto mining activities in Norway as much as possible. Crypto mining consumes a lot of electricity, and the job opportunities and income it creates for local communities are minimal. The government indicated that this temporary ban could be implemented in the fall of 2025.
