ai16z Founder: X platform claims that the monthly payment of $50,000 in corporate licensing fees will no longer be pursued and is considering a lawsuit.
On June 18, the founder of ai16z posted on Farcaster, “X contacted me and said that we violated certain terms of service, such as selling data, selling certain content by bypassing API keys, but we never did these things, we don’t have them now, and we won’t in the future. They directly linked me to my open source code as a reason to delete our account. Most of that code wasn’t written by me, it was stitched together from other open source projects. X says that if we pay $50,000 a month for enterprise licensing, we can no longer pursue it. We’re now only spending $1,000 per month for yellow certification and another $200 per month for developer licensing. This is naked blackmail, which has no reason and should not exist legally. I don’t want to be part of this system – it’s against everything I stand for. I’m considering whether to take the matter to court.” It was previously reported that ElizaOS’s official X account @elizaOS as well as its founder, Shaw account @shawmakesmagic, were frozen.
