According to news from June 14, this modified truck was equipped with 95 crypto mining devices and a complete mobile substation, illegally drawing electricity directly from a nearby 10 kV power line.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, the individuals involved had quickly driven away in an SUV. Buryat Energy Company revealed that this is the sixth case of electricity theft related to crypto mining in the region this year, highlighting the rampant illegal mining activities in the area. Such incidents underscore the ongoing challenges faced by crypto mining in terms of energy consumption and regulation.
