Oil and Gold Jump as Markets Fall After Israel-Iran Conflict Heats Up 🔭

Markets took a hit on Friday after Israel launched airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites overnight. The attack raised fears of a bigger conflict in the Middle East, pushing investors to pull out of risky assets like stocks and crypto.

In the U.S., all the major stock indexes dropped. The Dow Jones fell 1.12%, the Nasdaq slipped 0.72% and the S&P 500 went down 0.66%. Investors worried that the situation could get worse and affect the global economy

At the same time, gold and oil prices jumped. Gold rose 1.61% as people looked for safer places to put their money. Oil prices climbed 5.9% to over $74 a barrel, as traders worried about supply problems if the conflict spreads.

Bitcoin and other crypto also dropped. Bitcoin fell 1.9% in 24 hours, and the overall crypto market was down more than 3%. Crypto expert Nic Puckrin said that digital assets may continue to fall in the short term, especially if things get worse in the Middle East

"The big concern is if Iran shuts down the Strait of Hormuz. That’s where 20% of the world’s oil passes through. If that happens, oil prices could go way up, and risky assets like stocks and crypto could fall hard" - he said

Donald Trump also commented, saying he had told Iran to make a deal. "I gave them 60 days. Today is day 61. I told them what to do, but they didn’t do it. Maybe now they’ll get another chance".
